Hello it’s me again and about time too, poor Scott has been writing loads of updates while I kick my shoes off and relax well no more! I am back and I have something to say. Well not a lot actually, just wants to tell you about our week ;-)

Well work has been busy busy busy. Looking forward to taking some well earned time off, still things should calm down in a while as my boss is off to Europe for a month, and hopefully then I can play catch up, although Scott and I are trying to arrange a short trip over to Sydney.

Midwife went well on Tuesday, with us hearing the heartbeat again (never gets old) and a few other quick Q’s and A’s. Today I have booked us in for the 20 week scan on the 1st September. 20 weeks OMG! It seems to have flown by recently, and feels like we just announced it at 12 weeks. Very excited about it though, to make sure everything is all good and find out the sex! three of my pregnant friends in the UK are all expecting girls, and our friend Carrie here is now getting a girl puppy. Perhaps we all have the girl thing going on.

Having a bit of an emotional time of it at the moment, and feel like crying at stupid little things, but trying to stay on top of it. I had a painful filling on Wednesday as it was my turn at the dentist, and have agreed to have a consultation for this root cannel that needs doing, before Baby E arrives.

Colin and Chris's new buildSaturday was fun, Scott offered to lend a hand emptying a container and putting in some windows in a house that belongs to some friends of ours in Carterton. So 9:30am we got to Carols, and then Kenny, Scott, Me, Carol, Chloe, Samson & Delilah all drove over the Rimatuka’s to Carterton. I must say the boys did a wonderful job, and Carol and I were fantastic at supervising. As an added bonus I got to go to the Paua factory, and chocolate shop in Greytown (a must for Natasha when she comes over).

Sunday was spent cleaning a very dirty house and car, plus I also managed to drag Scott round a baby Expo that was on in Porirua ;-) some nice ideas and food for thought. A trip to Bunnings and Woolworth’s (to get food) and then home for slaving away at the housework. On the positive side we had a visit from our neighbours who we hadn’t seen in 6 weeks, and their little Michael who is now 4 months old

That’s all for now folks! thanks for listening.

Massey MemorialMust be cause its the middle of Winter, but we seem to be coming home and locking the door and cuddling up together,.  Thank goodness for the heat pump.  Its been getting down to 3 or 4 degrees outside (c) but the heat pump keeps on working thank goodness. We’ve had the fire on a couple of times for extra heat, and to burn off all the paper we keep getting through the mail. Free newspapers and spam mostly. Sam loves laying in front of the fire, and in the sun beams that occasionally come in whenever the sky is not full of rain. Tuesday I had a dishwasher repair man come around to give the one we have its last rights. So looking fro a new dishwasher.  I’ve been contacted by three old friends on facebook that I haven’t seen in years, which was nice.  Thursday went to Karate by myself as Craig was coughing up green phlegm.  ( Nice word Phlegm)   Friday night Tina took the girls out to see Mama Mia ( her second time) while I went to another leaving party at work.

Saturday, off to Bunnings (Think B&Q) to get some tiles to create a surround for the kitchen bench, but they only had 20 of the 45 we needed, They come in tomorrow apparently, so back again this weekend.  Kenny gave me some gIb to sort out the bathroom, so I’ll have a go at that this weekend as well.  Got a list of things to do before the guests arrive.  Al is back at the end of this month for 5 days, and we had confirmation that Natasha is arriving in October, Tina is so excited.

Sunday was beautiful, so we jumped in the car and went to another Wellington tourist spot we have meant to see. Massey memorial at the very tip of Miramar. Looked it up on the A to Z and Google Earth, and set off.  Visited the Prison twice by accident trying to get there, and asked the nice man on reception who pointed us in the right direction.  We found the entrance eventually though and walked Sam up to the memorial.  Its really hidden in the bush. A nice memorial though, built with white marble. It must have cost a fortune in 1920.   Its a shame the trees have grown up around it, otherwise it would be a beacon and would be viable all the way tot he Hutt.

DSCF7887After that, we had a drive round the coast, through Lyall Bay, and Island Bay then home.  After dropping of Sam for a rest, we headed to Pak n Save to do the weekly shop. I took a few photos of the place to give the peeps in the UK an idea of a super market out here.  Convert the prices if you want :-)

Only one more week for the car auction to go, got 5 watchers atm, but no bids :-(

Titahi BayWell its been a slooooow week.  You know what its like in the middle of winter, you leave the house in the dark, and get back to it in the dark.  I think the whole country has been looking forward to the weekend.  On Tuesday we went round to see Jan and Brian, and had Pizza and a few games of cards, Kenny passed his 51st Birthday on Thursday.  One of my lads Mike quit on Friday and is off to a new job on Monday, good luck to him.   The whole week New Zealand has been ravaged with storms. All through the north shore there has been storm damage, with landslides, roads being cut off, and power out to whole communities.  The eye of the storm appears to centre on Wellington and we got away with a lot of the damage, Last night we were woken in the early hours with thunder and heavy rain.    The dog didn’t like it at all :-)  Tina has been trying to stay awake in the evenings by doing jigsaw puzzles, and we are gradually working through the Stargate series which was my pick, after watching Tina’s Buffy, then my Farscape, then Tina’s Angel.  TV here is a bit naff, so we watch DVD’s of whole series at a time.

Yesterday we banged the car on Trademe.  We have one of the pool cars from work which is great for us, that will allow us to sell the one we have and take our time getting another before Tina really needs it.  We went out on Saturday and had a burger fuel and then went to watch Batman Begins. Good movie, then back home.   Today we all met up at a Chinese restaurant at noon.  (Pictures on Flickr) 23 of us, having all sorts of neat food.Chinese Sunday Lunch  Fried Squid, coconut buns,  I liked the food, but some of it didn’t agree with Tina, whose taste buds have gone all wacky.  She is into Hot and Spicy Monster Munch this week :-).  Oh, and we can feel something ( Its the baby of course) move in her belly, which is getting bigger and bigger.  less than 6 months now, scarey..  After that we returned home. Kenny kindly came round and helped me start Al’s Bike and run it up, showing me the buttons etc.  It Purrs.  Then a bloke and his son came around to look at the car.  Not bad for being online less than 24 hours.  Then Tina and I took Sam up to one of his bestest walks, Titahi Bay.  Bit wet, and not many surfers around, but nice and fun for Sam.  He is fast asleep next to me now, after being fast asleep next to me and falling off the arm of the chair :-)  he looked surprised when the floor came up to meet him !   Anyhow, not much of a week, not much news, but Spring is just round the corner :-)

Well, it’s over a week since the last blog and I have promised my beloved that I would do one today, so here it is.

In general people seem to be taking the pregnancy news pretty well, and I had the greatest pleasure on Sunday telling my niece Phoebe (6) and nephew James (9)… I am not sure they really know what’s going on, but James suggested the name “John” for a boys name as he only wants a boy cousin and Phoebe has suggested “Grace” for a girls name as she only wants a girl cousin…. Alas I will do my best.

Well it’s peeing down in Wellington today and we had some great thunder and lightening storms last night, when I opened the door for Samson to go out, he just gave me that fifthly look as in “you have got to be joking? right”?

Its not set to improve all week, however it is still fairly mild for this time of year so no arguments, of course it could just be my extra insulation :-)

This week I have experienced two “Movements” the first of which was on Saturday morning about 8:40am (Scott was up talking to his dad on Skype, so its not what you think) we had a minor earthquake something like 4.6 literally just a jolt if your walking or active at the time you wouldn’t have even felt it. The happen in Wellington a lot, and I think that I have felt most of them since being here even though Scott has not. The two biggest I would say was the one last winter when we sat in the house, and the house shook a little and creaked louder than the TV!!! And the second big-ish one I felt was in the middle of the night I think it was this autumn just gone and I woke up because my perfume bottles were rattling on my dressing table…… Anyway the second “Movement” this week was the baby or least I think it was, I had ran a nice 43 degrees bath last night with lots of soapy bubbles, and I just lie there relaxing, Scott was playing with his Itouch (5 months on and he still loves it) and remotely started playing music from around the house to the main computer, he is such a nerd but I love him, anyway he put Mama Mia on from the musical, and I felt something strange inside, I wasn’t sure what it was but it only lasted a second or two and then faded out, so I thought nothing of it, after all being pregnant makes your insides feel foreign anyway. So by now singing along to Mama Mia and I feel it again, this time it lasts longer, I put my hands on my tummy to see if I can feel  anything on the outside but nothing, I call for Scott, and he rushes in and says “What’s wrong are you alright”? “I think I just felt the baby move” I say OMG!!! The feeling lasts about 5 minutes which unfortunately I can not share with Scott as it was only felt on the inside, but I cant honesty couldn’t describe the feeling, most woman say its like getting butterflies or nerves but for me it felt like a bubble full of air rolling around the inside of my bump. So there you have it, I hope it just wasn’t wind :-)

I am thinking about starting a pregnancy diary this week, so I can keep tracks of these little things. So what else has happened? Apart from going to see Mama Mia which was fantastic I would highly recommend it, even Scott enjoyed it, we had a lovely dinner at Carol & Kenny’s house on Saturday and met another English couple that have moved into their rental in Whitby. We are also having friends over for dinner tonight, so cant wait for that. Apart from that and being off end of last week with a cold (think I caught Scott’s man flu) everything has been good. Looking forward to the weekend and has been a stressful week at work this week.

Oh Yeah and join me in wishing my OLDER brother a happy birthday this week J

Week 12 ScanHi everyone,  well this is the big news edition ands update.  We’ve known for a few weeks now, but wanted to get past the 12 week point and scan before announcing it.  Tina is pregnant, its a baby,  we don’t know the sex of it as yet, but everything seems to be normal.  The sexing we’ll find out at the week 20 scan.  Till then everything is up in the air.  Baby due to arrive on January 18th 2009 ! Other news ?  not so much,  the scans and everything have been heavy on our minds,  I had a works function on Friday night where I took the team to the Laser force area and shot them all up !  Other than that, its quiet, finishing off the painting of the Kitchen this afternoon.
